What is Occupational Therapy? Occupational Therapy involves the use of meaningful, functional activities common in daily life to enable people to live life as independently as possible, no matter what challenges, either physical, emotional, or environmental, they may face. Who should consult an Occupational Therapist? Occupational therapists work with people of all ages, from newborn infants to elders, who may have physical, cognitive, developmental, emotional and psychosocial difficulties. At SINEWS we specialize in Pediatric and Home Health Occupational Therapy. Home Health Occupational Therapy SINEWS offers occupational therapy services in the home setting for adults facing challenges with physical or social dysfunction. We also work in the home setting for elderly people, not only helping them live as independently as possible, but developing any home adaptations they could need. Occupational therapy’s goal in the home setting is to improve the ability of elderly people to fully participate in activities of daily living (ADLs); in their occupational roles within the home and community; as well as to adjust to age-related changes, disorders, or disability.
